On 26-28 January 2017 Mr. Stepan Kubiv, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Indian Commission, paid to working visit the Republic of India.
On January 26, during his stay in New Delhi, Mr. Stepan Kubiv attended the festive ceremony on the occasion of the Republic Day and met with Mr. M.J.Akbar, Minister of State for External Affairs of India, Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Indian-Ukrainian Commission. During the meeting the sides discussed schedule of Ukrainian-Indian political contacts in 2017, the issue of the sixth session of the Intergovernmental Commission and a number of key areas of cooperation. On January 26 Mr. Stepan Kubiv also gave an interview to the leading English language newspaper - "The Hindu".
On 27-28 January the delegation led by Mr. Stepan Kubiv took part in the 23rd International Partnership Summit-2017 "'Partnership for Sustained Growth in an Emerging Global Economic Order", held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Stepan Kubiv spoke at the plenary session of the event. He held separate meetings with several members of the Government of India: Mrs. N.Sitharaman, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Mr. N.Gadkari, Minister of Surface Transport and Highways; Mr. V.Naidu, Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information and Broadcasting; Mr. A.H.Raju, Minister of Civil Aviation, and Mr. N.Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. They were focussed on possible ways to enhance trade and economic and regional cooperation between Ukraine and India in a number of specific areas.
Mr. Stepan Kubiv also held separate meetings with his counterparts from other countries - participants of the summit: Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, the UAE Minister of Economy; Mr. T.Ahmed, Minister of Trade of Bangladesh, and Mr. R.H.Thakali, Nepal's Minister of Trade. During these meetings specific areas of intensification of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and these countries were discussed.
