In the context of the practical implementation of Point 8 "Environmental Safety" of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, in particular in the field of humanitarian demining, on November 14, the Embassy of Ukraine in India together with the Horizon Group organized a panel discussion "Global Scenario and International Cooperation in Mine Action".

The event took place within the framework of the International Forum on Mine Action and Safety "IIFOMAS SYMPOSIUM".

Ambassador of Ukraine to India Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk presented to the participants of the conference the Ukraine's National Mine Action Strategy for the period until 2033 and the Operational Plan for its implementation for 2024-2026.

The Chief of Defense Staff of India, General Anil Chauhan, in his speech noted that today Ukraine is the country most contaminated by mines in the world, and the demining of Ukrainian territories requires significant resources and the support of the international community. The Ambassador emphasized that mine danger primarily poses a threat to the civilian population.

Oleksandr Polishchuk emphasized the importance of involvement of India and Indian companies, which have significant experience and capabilities for carrying out humanitarian demining works in Ukraine.

He highly appreciated the activities of Horizon Group, which has already opened its representative office in Ukraine and is currently undergoing the relevant certification.

The Ambassador expressed hope that India will actively participate in the conferences organized by Ukraine on humanitarian demining, and will also take an active part in post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
