On November 22-23, 2024, Fr. Agnel School in New Delhi conducted the SPARK Model United Nations (MUN) Conference 2024 with the participation of 22 schools and 275 students in total. This year`s edition was organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of India.
One of the conference sessions was dedicated to the issue of Ukrainian resistance to Russian aggression and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula. The young delegates demonstrated a remarkable level of preparation, raising the issue of Russia's nuclear threats in response to the partners' support for Ukraine's resistance to Russian aggression, expressing support for the Peace Formula points, calling for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the Ukrainian territories and the return of Crimea to Ukraine. The winner of this session received a special gift from the Ukrainian Embassy.
On November 22, Mr. Artem Nosko, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Ukraine, attended the opening ceremony of the Conference, while H.E. Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk, Ambasador of Ukraine to India participated in the Prize Distribution evening the next day.
Prior to awarding the students, Ambassador congratulated them on their achievement:
“The SPARK Model United Nations conference was not just an academic exercise; it was a platform for you to engage with the complex challenges facing our world today. One critical topic that you delved into is Russian war against Ukraine. This war has affected millions of lives, and it has highlighted the need for just and lasting peace. Ukraine's Peace Formula — proposed by President Zelenskyy—offers a vision for a future where justice, accountability, and security prevail. Its principles, such as the restoration of territorial integrity, the protection of civilians, and the pursuit of accountability for war crimes, offer a path forward for lasting peace. This Formula is universal”.
Dr. Polishchuk also proudly recalled previous interactions in partnership with the Fr. Agnel School, New Delhi and the Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages №1, within the framework of the project “Empathy Bridges: Connecting Ukrainian and Indian Hearts”, initiated by Mr. Rudroneel Ghosh, Senior Assistant Editor at The Times of India, with support of the Embassy of Ukraine.
