For the first time Ukraine became a Partner Country of one of the most influential global investment forums - Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

The Ukrainian delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr Kuzyo participated for the first time in the tenth Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 (January 10-12, 2024, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India). This Summit has been held regularly since 2003 at the initiative of the Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

Ukraine country seminar "Ukraine-India: Investment opportunities for a better future" was held within the framework of the Summit. 

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Ms. Yuliia Svyrydenko addressed Summit audience online, emphasizing the need to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields, the importance of creating joint projects and enterprises, and invited the Indian Government and private sector to participate in post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

"...War is not an embargo on investments. We are starting to rebuild Ukraine now, without waiting for the end of the war. We invite India, as our reliable partner and the voice of the Global South, to become an interested party in the reconstruction of Ukraine," Yuliia Svyrydenko said.

Volodymyr Kuzyo presented relevant information about the gradual recovery of Ukraine's economy and noted: "Ukraine and India already have a long experience of successful cooperation in such sectors as pharmaceuticals and metallurgy. We are now inviting Indian companies to consider investing in sectors such as renewable energy, transport, logistics and biofuel production. After all, they will be the drivers of the growth of the Ukrainian economy after the war."

Ambassador of Ukraine to India Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk expressed gratitude to the Indian Government for the proposed humanitarian mechanism - High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) and conveyed confidence that its implementation will have a positive effect on the development of Ukrainian communities.

Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Anatolii Komirnyi in his presentation introduced the experience of modern technologies and digitalization in the context of the post-war recovery of Ukraine.

Special Guest of the Seminar - Chargé d'Affaires of the EU to India Mr. Seppo Nurmi informed about the devastating consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine and assured the unwavering support of our state by the European Union.

Representative of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mr. Vinod Agrawal, spoke about the interests of Indian businesses in interaction with Ukrainian companies.

Head of Ukrainian company "SpetsTechnoExport" (STE) office in India, Mr. Vadym Shklyar, outlined the main directions and approaches for deepening cooperation between the defense industries of Ukraine and India.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Ukrainian delegation met with Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel Ji and the Minister of Economic Affairs and Information Technologies of Estonia Mr. Tiit Riisalo.

Several meetings were held with representatives of Indian businesses in order to discuss practical steps regarding their involvement in the implementation of projects on humanitarian demining of Ukrainian territories, ensuring the needs of Ukraine, in particular, in automotive equipment and components.

As part of the visit to the state of Gujarat, a visit was also made to the production facilities of the Indian company "Elecon Engineering" - one of the largest Indian manufacturers of industrial transmissions and a wide range of heavy engineering products. Specific areas of mutual interest have been identified.
