Key massages of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal:
On the occasion of the Republic Day of India:
On behalf of the Government of Ukraine let me please congratulate the people of India on the occasion of the Republic Day. This day is not only a significant date in the history of your country, but also a symbol of the victory of freedom and sovereignty. One of the largest economies and rapidly growing, largest democracy in the world, highly spiritual country, India is the best example of unity through diversity.
India proved to play a constructive and fair role on the global arena.
Ukraine and India share the same democratic values and principles.
Gratitude for provided humanitarian aid:
Let me please also express our sincere gratitude to the Government and personally Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and people of India for provided humanitarian aid. 15th Consignment was handed over by the Ambassador of India to Lviv Regional Administration last week. It consisted of generators which will be used to provide the schools for uninterrupted educational process of Ukrainian kids.
Peace for Ukraine and the world
Ukraine won’t exchange sustainable and lasting peace for frozen conflict. It is very important to press Russia to stop war.
Ukraine welcomes any peace proposals that adhere to two fundamental principles: they do not call for territorial concessions from Ukraine, including Crimea of course, and do not result in a frozen conflict instead of peace.
We are confident in further consolidation of peace loving nations around Ukrainian Peace Formula.
We have started preparations for the Global Peace Summit at the level of state leaders, which will be held this year. The presence at the Summit of the voice of Global South, which consolidates the aspirations and hopes for peace of billions of people, is extremely important.
Ukraine counts on India’s participation in implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and we believe this will be a powerful signal to other nations of the Global South to work together for a better future
Invitation to take part in post-war reconstruction of Ukraine
We are starting to rebuild Ukraine now, without waiting for the war to end.
We invite India, as our reliable partner and voice of Global South, to become a stakeholder in reconstruction of Ukraine. Indian companies are welcome to invest in Ukraine.
Indian students in Ukraine
We invite Indian students to continue their higher education in the West of Ukraine, which is more safe.
Reforms and the EU integration
Despite the ongoing war against our country, we managed to preserve macroeconomic stability.
The Government of Ukraine is working 24/7 to put in place necessary reforms and ensure that private sector feels comfortable, our economy is recovering and our European integration path is in progress.
In November 2023 the EU leaders decided to open accession negotiations with Ukraine, which are scheduled to start in March this year.
More than 90% of Ukrainians support integration to the EU.
Defense against Russian aggression
We are grateful to our partners and allies for unwavering political, financial and defence support. Stronger together.
Ukraine has started producing its weaponry and ammunition, marking a significant shift in order to defend itself.
