On the occasion of the 210th anniversary of Ukrainian national genius - poet, artist and philosopher Taras Shevchenko, the Embassy organized an event for Ukrainians in India.

Shevchenko's poems were read in Ukrainian, #Hindi, as well as #Bengali - translation by the Chairman of the Board of the East European Institute of Development, Dr. Mridula Ghosh, which was read by Ms. Reema Sharma.

The head of the Ukrainian community Maryna Akram presented an excerpt from the poem "Dream" in her own translation into Hindi and #Urdu, as well as her own poem inspired by the works of Kobzar.

We also watched:

• the previous joint work of the Ukrainian community and the Embassy - video project "Testament" by Taras Shevchenko in the languages of South Asian countries and Indian states;
• video project of Ukrainians in India "Taras Shevchenko: Love that supports all life";
• excerpts from the 1951 historical-biographical film "Taras Shevchenko" about the life of the Ukrainian artist;
• informative video about the biography of the poet and the symbolism of the monuments in his honor damaged during the tragic events as a result of Russia's armed aggression.

We express our gratitude to everyone who joined the celebration of the anniversary of the symbol of the Ukrainian spirit and resilience!
