A three-concert programme in New Delhi and Gurugram was held within the framework of cultural cooperation between Austria and Ukraine in India.
The concert series — Michaela Rabitsch & Robert Pawlik Trio (Austria) ft. Dr. Taras Filenko (Ukraine) — opened on 26 December 2025 at the Embassy of Austria in New Delhi, continued on 28 December 2025 at The Piano Man Jazz Club, Gurugram, and concluded on 5 January 2026 at The Piano Man Jazz Club (Eldeco Centre), New Delhi.
The programme brought together contemporary Austrian jazz and Austrian and Ukrainian classical repertoire within a single concert concept. Alongside internationally known jazz standards, the Austrian performers also presented their original jazz compositions. The classical part of the programme featured works by Joseph Haydn, Dmytro Bortniansky, and Myroslav Skoryk.
A highlight of each evening was the joint performance of two pieces — “Dance” (composed by Michaela Rabitsch) and “Summertime” (by George Gershwin).
This concert series was implemented as a practical outcome of the understanding reached between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Austria and Ukraine to advance cultural cooperation and engagement. The initiative was jointly organized by the Austrian Cultural Forum New Delhi, the Embassy of Austria in New Delhi, the Ukrainian Institute, and the Embassy of Ukraine in New Delhi.
This three-concert series may be seen as Chapter One of Austria–Ukraine cultural cooperation in India — a strong beginning that sets the tone for further joint initiatives bringing our cultures closer through live performance, dialogue, and people-to-people ties.
The Embassy of Ukraine expresses sincere gratitude to our Austrian friends for this wonderful opportunity to present our cultures together, and extends heartfelt thanks to everyone involved — with special appreciation to Murtaza Ali Khan, curator of the Austrian–Ukrainian project.
