In the period from February 20 to 24, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Iryna Borovets paid a working visit to India.
The main purpose of the visit was to participate in one of the leading international conferences on geopolitics and geoeconomics in Asia "Raisina Dialogue", where the Deputy Minister officially represented Ukraine for the first time.
As part of the conference, Iryna Borovets spoke at the panel session "Back to the Future: A New Era of Conflict in Europe."
"For Ukraine, it is very important that the world community support the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula as the only possible way to achieve sustainable and just peace in our country," she said.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister held a number of bilateral meetings, including with India's Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra and India's Deputy National Security Adviser Vikram Misri.
Iryna Borovets informed the interlocutors about the security situation in Ukraine, in particular about the consequences of Russian armed aggression. The sides discussed issues of the global agenda, further development of bilateral relations, India's involvement in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, as well as the implementation of joint projects, in particular within the framework of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Make in India" initiative.
The Deputy Minister thanked the Indian side for its unwavering support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. She emphasized the importance of India's participation in the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula and invited the Indian side to participate in the Global Peace Summit.
She also expressed gratitude to the government and people of India for the humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine and the proposed mechanism for its implementation, in particular, projects for the reconstruction of social and critical infrastructure in Ukrainian communities - High Impact Community Development projects.
Iryna Borovets also took part in the round table with representatives of Indian expert community, organized by the Indian Council of World Affairs. The Deputy Minister informed about the developments in Ukraine in the cause of the ongoing military aggression of the Russian Federation; the involvement of international partners in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine; implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and the importance of its support by India.
On the tragic occasion of the second anniversary of Russia's full scale invasion, Iryna Borovets together with the representatives of the partner countries - the US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti and the Chargé d'affaires of Poland in India Sebastian Domzalski opened the photo exhibition "I still dream" at the American Center in New Delhi, which featured photos of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers depicting harsh reality Ukrainian kids live in.
