Ukrainian-Polish writer Zanna Sloniowska visited India as part of the literary festival Long Night of Literatures, organized by the cluster of cultural institutions of the EU countries EUNIC India, with the financial and organisational assistance of the Polish Institute New Delhi (September 20-27, 2023).
On September 22 in New Delhi (in the premises of the Instituto Cervantes) and on September 25 in Kolkata (Goethe-Institut), the main events of the Long Night of Literatures Festival took place - individual sessions of writers with readers.
A total of 14 interactions, more than 300 listeners!
During the sessions, Zanna presented her books "The House with the Stained-Glass Window" (2015) and "The Island" (2019).
She skillfully answered numerous questions from the audience, including providing objective information about the situation in Ukraine and the consequences of Russian aggression.
In the framework of the Festival, the author also had the opportunity to communicate with students and teachers of Jawaharlal Nehru University, took part in the Literary Forum of Indian book publishers and visited several historical bookstores.
This year, a record 13 authors from various European countries took part in the Festival. Congratulations to colleagues on the successful implementation of a large-scale project!
We express our sincere gratitude to the Polish Institute New Delhi for the opportunity to present Ukraine!
