Ukrainians in India gathered in the Embassy on the occasion of the second tragic anniversary of the Russian full-scale armed aggression.

This year marks not only the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion, but also marks the tenth anniversary of Russian aggression against Ukraine, which started in 2014 with occupation of Crimea and further aggression in Donbas.

War is ongoing. Homes are being destroyed. Families are being torn apart. We lose our loved ones and live in constant danger. Yet, Ukrainians continue to astound the world with bravery and stamina. We fight until surpassing evil. 

With a sufficient amount of weaponry, Ukraine will win on the battlefield because we know what we are fighting for. As Russia shows no signs of stopping, we must do everything possible and impossible to make this world a better place for us and our children. 

We call on actively supporting Ukraine with weapons, donations, and advocating actions. Every effort matters and brings us closer to a safe future.

We honoured the war victims’ memory with a moment of silence and lighting of candles.

We express our gratitude to the special guest - Yevhenii Volynskii, Ukrainian-Swedish translator and poet, for presenting both his own and expertly translated poetry on the relevant topic, Indian motifs in Ukrainian, as well as translations of rock classics and a burlesque retelling of Buddhacharita - the classic Indian epic poem composed in the first century.

The documentary film from the series "Culture vs War" about the invaluable contribution of Ukrainian artists to the future victory of Ukraine made a vivid impression on the audience.
