As part of Europe on Wheels 2026, organised within the framework of #EuropeWeeks2026 by EUNIC India in New Delhi, the Embassy of Ukraine was pleased to join a celebration of European culture hosted by the Polish Institute New Delhi, together with the Embassy of Ireland, New Delhi and the Embassy of Lithuania in India / Lietuvos ambasada Indijoje.
The programme introduced guests to the rich cultural heritage of our countries through a special exhibition dedicated to #UNESCO World Heritage Sites, an interactive quiz with prizes on our cultures and traditions, a tasting of selected national dishes, and a warm musical programme. All participants also received mugs specially prepared for the occasion.
The celebration was enriched by the performance of Polish artist Michał Rudaś, Irish ballads performed by Dema and Amartya, a joint Polish-Lithuanian musical performance, and a special Ukrainian-Polish musical moment featuring the beloved song “Hej, Sokoły” / “Гей, соколи”.
All participating countries also shared selected elements of their national cuisines. Ukraine was represented through traditional flavours, including varenyky, Ukrainian dumplings, and medivnyk, a Ukrainian honey cake.
Today, Europe Day feels especially meaningful. It reminds us that peace, unity and solidarity are not abstract ideas, but values that must be protected every day.
We are sincerely grateful to our European partners, as well as to all the guests who joined us for this special celebration.
